Requesting Materials

  1. Current students and employees with library accounts in good standing can use this service.
  2. Search for the item in your library’s catalog, choosing the "PASCAL Delivers" option from the dropdown menu on the right side of the search box. If you are using a mobile device, this dropdown menu may be located above the search box.
  3. Sign into your account. You can do this by clicking the yellow banner under the search box or by clicking “Sign In” in the top right corner of the page. If you are using a mobile device, click the three dots in the top right corner to open the Main Menu and then choose the “Sign In” option.
  4. After you’ve found the item you are looking for, click on the title of the book you want to request from within the search results.
  5. If your institution owns a copy, you may be able to request it by clicking the "Request" link in the Request It section. There may also be a button with a label similar to “Place a local request” that you can click instead. In the form that appears, choose your preferred pickup location and click "Send Request." You can check the status of your request in the “My Library Card” view, which can be accessed from clicking or selecting your name in the top right corner of the page - or from the Main Menu if you are using a mobile device.
  6. If your institution does not own a copy, click the blue "Request via PASCAL Delivers" button. In the form that appears, choose your preferred pickup location. Enter any additional information that may be necessary to fill your request, for example, whether you only need a portion of the book and if so, details about the portion of the book that you need. Read the copyright notice and check the copyright box, then click "Send Request."
  7. Books from other institutions usually arrive in 5-7 business days. You can check the status of your request in the “My Library Card” view, which can be accessed from clicking or selecting your name in the top right corner of the page - or from the Main Menu if you are using a mobile device.

When Requested Items Arrive

  1. You will receive an email from the library to let you know your item has arrived. If your request was for a digital scan of an article or portion of a book, there will be a link to the scan within this email.
  2. If you requested a physical book, a paper band or sticker on the book will include the due date, which is usually 12 weeks from the day it arrived at your institution.
  3. You can check on due dates online in the “My Library Card” view, which can be accessed from clicking or selecting your name in the top right corner of the page - or from the Main Menu if you are using a mobile device.
