The Lender of Last Resort configuration streamlines the process of requesting items for both library employees and their patrons by configuring an institution’s ILL platform (WorldShare, Tipasa, or ILLiad) as a partner in their IZ. Patrons will continue to place requests via the Resource Sharing Request Form in Primo but if no PASCAL institution is able to fill the request, Alma will create a request for the item in the ILL platform, to then be processed and received from a library outside of the PASCAL consortium. Once received, the item is checked out to the patron in the Alma environment so that library staff can see it on the patron’s library account and the patron can see it in their checkout list in Primo.
